What Does the State Inspection Record Show?
Brookdale Cary holds 3 stars from North Carolina, issued in December 2024, with no state fines in the past three years. County monitoring visits in March, June, and August 2024 found no problems. Its 2024 annual inspection found hot water running too hot at the sinks, fixed the same day, along with missing TB tests, outdated care plans, and water not served at one breakfast.
The record from 2022 to 2023 was much weaker. Inspectors found several cases of memory care residents leaving the building without staff noticing, the last in August 2023, and the rating fell to 1 star in spring 2023. A March 2025 building follow up also found the fire alarm panel and some smoke barrier doors still had not been repaired from an earlier inspection. You can read the reports on the state inspection page for Brookdale Cary and the Wake County monitoring reports.
